This has been another historic year for Braze. Despite the global
challenges, we have experienced robust growth as brands recognize the value that can be achieved through the personalized, cross-channel customer engagement powered by our platform.
The seed for Braze was planted at the dawn of the smartphone
revolution a dozen years ago, helping a new generation of mobile-native businesses build first-party customer relationships on a foundation of first-party data. Today, customer engagement is a well-recognized, but still emerging category of
both software and industry expertise which comes together to enable companies to build and maintain direct, meaningful relationships with their customers. As we look ahead to the future of customer engagement, it's clear that those
relationships will be increasingly understood through the use of first-party data, and made actionable throughout the customer journey with the help of sophisticated engagement software. Today's economic realities have refocused many brands on
foundational customer engagement use cases like enhancing customer loyalty and improving retention. While this refocus supports Braze's growth through this dynamic economic period, I find myself even more excited by the secular trends which are
driving brands to invest in understanding, controlling and deriving value directly from their customer relationships.
When we started Braze, my co-founders and I shared a dual
conviction about the change that mobile was catalyzing: first, that fast-growing new businesses would be born and built to be mobile first, and second, that brands of all kinds would be transformed by the wide-scale adoption of mobile. Since
our founding, we have seen much of this thesis born out–our bonds with technology have multiplied as we welcome more and more digital products and services into our lives, and this integration has created a myriad of new opportunities for
brands to strengthen and enrich their first party customer relationships.
Despite the challenges facing the global community, ranging from
inflationary pricing dynamics, supply chain pressures, political unrest and ongoing macroeconomic instability, we remain confident that customer engagement is a universal business imperative. This is why we remain steadfastly committed to
enabling our customers to “Start Anywhere, and Go Everywhere.” For teams that are early in their journey to adopt the modern practice of customer engagement, this represents a commitment to meet them where they are, and to get them up and
running quickly. For our existing customers, it is an enduring commitment to support the growth of their companies and the success of their teams through robust investment in our product, community, and customer education. No matter their size,
sophistication or industry, we seek to provide each customer the inspiration, education, and technology they need to continually push their customer engagement practices to new heights. This commitment continues to resonate across industries
and enterprise size, and we are excited that you, as our stockholders, are equally committed to this vision.
