Revolving loans
— Revolving loans offered under private label credit financing programs provide qualified customers with a revolving credit line for the purchase of products and services offered by Dell. These private label credit financing programs are referred to as Dell Preferred Account ("DPA") and Dell Business Credit ("DBC"). The DPA product is primarily offered to individual consumer customers, and the DBC product is primarily offered to small and medium-sized commercial customers. Revolving loans in the United States bear interest at a variable annual percentage rate that is tied to the prime rate. Based on historical payment patterns, revolving loan transactions are typically repaid within
twelve months
on average.

Fixed-term sales-type leases and loans
— The Company enters into sales-type lease arrangements with customers who desire lease financing. Leases with business customers have fixed terms of generally

In connection with the Company's international financing operations, the Company has entered into revolving structured financing debt programs related to its fixed-term lease and loan products sold in Canada and Europe. As of

Amortization of Intangible Assets

Amortization of intangible assets consists of amortization of customer relationships, developed technology and trade names. In connection with the going-private transaction, all of Denali’s tangible and intangible assets and liabilities were accounted for and recognized at fair value on the transaction date. Accordingly, for the periods presented, amortization of intangible assets represents amortization associated with intangible assets recognized in connection with the going-private transaction. Amortization charges for purchased intangible assets are significantly impacted by the timing and magnitude of our acquisitions, and these charges may vary in amount from period to period. Aggregate Adjustment for Income Taxes

first quarter of Fiscal 2017
. The increases were primarily driven by compensation and benefits costs due to an increase in sales headcount, marketing costs, and outside services associated with the pending EMC merger transaction. We continue to actively manage our cost structure, which allows us to invest in strategic areas such as strengthening our sales force.
